New regulations governing food contact films

Tech Folien is a producer of blown films which are also used for food contact applications. There has been discussion and several new recommendations made by the European Union in relation to Mineral oils and plastics in food contact packaging and the latest German National Mineral Oil Regulation says that packaging from recycling materials are only marketable, if migration of MOAH (mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons) do not exceed 0.5mg/kg of food.

In the attached download is a Statement affirming conformance to the standards by materials supplied by Tech Folien, which include all substances potentially migrating from plastic packaging, MOAH, MOSH (mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons), POSH (polyolefinic oligomeric saturated hydrocarbons) and PAO (poly alpha olefins).
